Archie Willis III

Archie leads ComCap Partner’s affordable housing, community development, and real estate development activities. Under his leadership, the firm has provided services to numerous nonprofit sponsors and private developers in financing more than 4,200 units of affordable housing and 1,100 units of mixed-income multifamily housing on three HOPE VI sites. As an advocate for building sustainable communities, Archie is expanding the firm’s portfolio to include more comprehensive community development projects and is currently spearheading revitalization efforts in the South City and Frayser neighborhoods.

Prior to founding ComCap Partners, Archie was first vice president in the public finance department of a regional investment banking firm. During his eight-year tenure, he was responsible for structuring municipal bond issues for cities and other public and quasi-public agencies. Archie has an additional 10 years of experience in real estate development and mortgage banking, developing several historic buildings and affordable housing projects.

For the past ten years, Archie has served on the board of directors of Tri-State Bank of Memphis, currently serving as chairman. He is currently a member of the board of governors of the Community Foundation of Greater Memphis, president of the board of Urban Renaissance Partners, on the board of the Urban Child Institute, and a member of the advisory board of BlueHub Capital (Boston, MA).

Archie previously served on the board of commissioners for Memphis City Schools, the pension board of MLGW, and has been an active board member for numerous civic and community organizations including the Urban Land Institute, Community LIFT, Neighborhood Preservation, Inc., the Shelby County Health Educational and Housing Facility Board, BRIDGES, Girls Inc., the NAACP, United Housing, United Way and Centenary United Methodist Church.

Archie received his M.B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a B.S. in Finance from the University of Southern California.
